RISE-Health was born out of a pressing need to address the constraints faced by clinical research in Portugal. Recognizing these challenges, we united four major research units — CINTESIS, UNIC, MedinUP, and CICS-UBI — with a shared vision: to transform the national and international landscape of clinical research.

Our mission is to increase and consolidate the critical mass of researchers and constitute a comprehensive research hub nationwide to conduct high-quality, interdisciplinary clinical and translational research. We aim to be innovative, impactful, and inclusive, addressing a wide range of medical areas and scientific fields. By fostering collaboration and bringing together diverse expertise, we will enhance the efficiency of our research efforts, ensuring that our work not only advances science but also benefits the community at large.

The establishment of RISE-Health represents a significant effort by everyone involved, from the ground to the leadership. This collective commitment is essential as we strive to build a sustainable future for clinical research in Portugal, ensuring that our country remains at the forefront of scientific innovation.
