Patrícia Coelho, a researcher at RISE-Health and lecturer at the University of Porto School of Nursing (ESEP), recently took on the role of co-leader of the “Innovation in Nurse Education” task force, an initiative developed through a partnership between Portugal and Germany.

Aiming to establish itself as an international forum for sharing educational tools and experiences among nurses and nursing educators, this task force of the European Association for Palliative Care will focus on equipping these professionals to develop clinical and leadership skills in the provision of palliative care.

Launched in 2021, the international initiative aims, among other objectives, to build a community of nurses and nursing educators, disseminate the results of ongoing projects related to nursing education, and translate the knowledge and experience of this community into a report or international framework that supports the development of palliative care education and the strengthening of leadership roles for nurses.
