RISE-Health Research Journal is "Opening the Door" to a New Type of Scientific Article

Case reports will help “raise awareness of a condition”.

The scientific journal RISE-Health Research Journal, published by the RISE Health Research Unit and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), is now accepting submissions of Case Reports.

This new type of article, which reports on rare medical conditions or occurrences, or cases from which a lesson can be learned, has the potential to “raise awareness of a condition, suggest a reasonable diagnostic strategy or demonstrate a more cost-effective approach to treatment”, as stated on the page of the RISE-Health Research Journal on Wolters Kluwer, a renowned international scientific publisher.

It should be noted that the RISE-Health Research Journal, launched at the beginning of this calendar year, replaces the Porto Biomedical Journal (PBJ), establishing itself as the continuation and evolution of the project initiated a decade ago.

Currently, the revamped journal is led by Fernando Schmitt, director of the RISE-Health Research Unit and Full Professor at FMUP, who now takes on the role of Editor-in-Chief, with Pedro Gomes as Deputy Editor, as well as new Associate Editors who are leading figures in biomedical and clinical fields, who will contribute to the journal’s scientific rigour and international standing.
