On 13 March 2026, the School of Health Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém will hold the 1st Clinical Supervision Conference, a scientific event in a hybrid format that aims to promote reflection on clinical supervision practices in higher education in health. RISE-Health is associated with the initiative as an institutional partner.
The Conference brings together teachers, supervisors, health professionals, researchers, and students, creating a space for knowledge sharing and discussion on methodologies, challenges, and opportunities in clinical supervision in academic and professional contexts.
The event will feature a diverse programme, including thematic conferences on supervision, clinical practices and professional development; presentations of academic work, highlighting student research; and presentations of intervention projects, showcasing good practices and innovative approaches in clinical supervision.
The opening session will be led by the Presidency of IPSantarém, the director of the Santarém School of Health, Professor Hélia Maria da Silva Dias, the head of the postgraduate programme in Clinical Supervision at that institution, Professor Ana Spínola, and a representative of the Order of Nurses.
Throughout the day, the programme will include conferences, debates, research presentations and the sharing of experiences between professionals and students.
Among the topics covered are Clinical Supervision in the current context, Supervision as a tool for professional development, Good practices and intervention projects, and Student contributions to improving clinical practice.
The event will also feature opportunities for broader discussion and will conclude with a summary of the work presented.
For RISE-Health, participation in these conferences represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen links with higher education institutions in health, promote the quality of clinical training, enhance evidence-based supervision practices, and involve its researchers in initiatives that strengthen the interface between academia, clinical practice, and society.
The event is open to the community, subject to prior registration.
