Pedro Melo and Soraia Pereira, researchers at the RISE Health Research Unit, were distinguished by the Portuguese Nursing Association.

At the VI Gala Valoriza, organised by the Northern Regional Section of the Portuguese Nursing Association, the specialist Soraia Pereira (RISE-Health/ESEP) was in the spotlight when she received the Research Award for her scientific work, ‘Impact of the Programme for the Promotion of Positive Nursing Practice Environments on Improving Patient Safety’, which also features Olga Maria Ribeiro (RISE-Health@RISE/ESEP) as an author and aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a structured programme for promoting positive nursing practice environments in primary health care.

The award, presented last December, aims to recognise scientific excellence, rigour, innovation and contribution to the development of knowledge and the impact of research on improving professional practices, technology, population health and the ability to generate useful and applicable scientific evidence.

Pedro Melo (RISE-Health@RISE/ESEP), in turn, was recognised for his scientific impact with an Honourable Mention.

The Valoriza Gala is an annual event that aims to recognise leading professionals in nursing across the categories of Career, Excellence, Research, and Merit.
