News / RISE-Health joins the European infrastructure for Translational Medicine
The membership of RISE-Health in the European body enhances the role of the Research Unit as a strategic partner in European projects.
On 20 November, the RISE-Health Research Unit officially joined the European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine (EATRIS), an organisation that aims to improve and optimise the pre-clinical and clinical development of medicines, vaccines and diagnostics.
Currently, the European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine collaborates with funding agencies, government institutions, and civil society organisations to strengthen translational research and innovation ecosystems in the field of health, enabling RISE-Health, by joining this European reference network, gain visibility, enhancing its role as a strategic partner in European projects, as well as for the provision of specialised services.
“The integration of RISE-Health into EATRIS is an important milestone for our Unit and for translational research in Portugal. This recognition reinforces the excellence of the work we do and opens up new opportunities for collaboration, access to advanced infrastructure and participation in high-impact European projects. We are deeply motivated to actively contribute to this network and continue to transform scientific knowledge into real benefits for patients,” says Fernando Schmitt, director of the Research Unit.
At EATRIS, RISE-Health is dedicated to research focused on Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP), Biomarkers and Small Molecules, three of the five platforms of the European infrastructure for Translational Medicine.
