News / RISE-Health Researcher Featured in New OECD Report
Work developed by specialists at RISE-Health is cited in the chapter dedicated to end-of-life care.
The researcher Sara Pinto (RISE-Health@RISE/ESEP) is one of the experts featured in the latest report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
The document entitled Health at a Glance 2025, ‘provides a comprehensive set of indicators on population health and health system performance in OECD member countries,’ covering ‘health status, health risk factors, access and quality of health care, health expenditure and health system resources,’ reads the report.
In the chapter dedicated to end-of-life care, the scientific article ‘Patient and Family Preferences About Place of End-of-Life Care and Death: An Umbrella Review’, developed as part of a PhD in Nursing Sciences at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Porto (ICBAS-UP), is cited as a reference work in the sector.
For the specialist at the RISE-Health Research Unit, this recognition is something that ‘makes her very happy’ and ‘acknowledges the value of the work’ she has been doing, while also highlighting ‘the research produced in Portugal’.
Sara Pinto is a nurse specialising in palliative care, holds a PhD in Nursing Sciences, and is a researcher at RISE-Health. She is currently also an Adjunct Professor at the Porto School of Nursing (ESEP) and is part of the scientific coordination of the Portuguese Observatory of Palliative Care at the Portuguese Catholic University.
