Six RISE-Health Researchers Ranked Among the World's Best

Researchers from the RISE-Health Research Unit are among the “World’s Best Scientists 2025” ranking by Research.com

 

The innovation, quality and impact of RISE-Health’s research have been recognised by Research.com, a portal dedicated to research and education

In July, six researchers from the RISE-Health Research Unit were featured in the ‘World’s Best Scientists 2025’ on the Research.com portal, a ranking based on the number of citations and the H-Index (Discipline H-index), an indicator that measures a researcher’s influence by taking into account their scientific publications and the number of times they are cited.

Fernando Schmitt, director of RISE-Health, and Patrício Soares da Silva (RISE-Health@RISE/FMUP) were two of the researchers recognised in the field of Medicine. Other researchers from the unit recognised for their work were Cidália Pina-Vaz, João Fonseca and Acácio Gonçalves Rodrigues (RISE-Health@RISE/FMUP). In psychology, Óscar F. Gonçalves (RISE-Health@RISE/UPT) is among the best researchers in the world.

The University of Porto, where the RISE-Health Research Unit is based, through the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), has 155 researchers featured in the ‘World’s Best Scientists 2025’ ranking who, over the last year, have published more than 40,000 scientific papers in national and international journals.
