RISE-Health Supports New Edition of the Portuguese Congress on Assessment and Intervention in Social Gerontology

The event will take place on 12 and 13 March and will be hosted by the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS-UP).

The School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar of the University of Porto (ICBAS-UP) will host the 7th Portuguese Congress on Assessment and Intervention in Social Gerontology on 12 and 13 March, an event supported by the RISE-Health Research Unit.

The initiative, taking place ten years after its last edition, brings together researchers, professionals, students and other stakeholders to reflect on and disseminate policies, research and interventions within the field of gerontology.

At the 7th edition of the event – which is supported by RISE-Health – Daniela Figueiredo, Oscar Ribeiro (RISE-Health/UA) and Lia Araújo (RISE-Health/IPV) will address topics such as health research, studies of Portuguese centenarians, and the use of social networks and activities at very advanced ages.

Under the theme “Memory, Action and Future”, the Portuguese Congress on Assessment and Intervention in Social Gerontology aims to establish itself as a key platform for debate on ageing and the future of gerontology in Portugal.
