RISE-Health Supports Harvard Researcher's Visit to FMUP and IPO-Porto

The renowned researcher’s visit will take place from 22 to 24 April.

Shannan Ho Sui, leader and researcher of the Harvard Chan Bioinformatics Core at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, will be visiting RISE-Health. The visit will take place from 22 to 24 April at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and the Portuguese Institute of Oncology of Porto (IPO-Porto).

The initiative, consisting of seminars and round tables, will count on the participation of Fernando Schmitt, coordinator of RISE-Health, Altamiro da Costa Pereira, director of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and various RISE-Health researchers.

The planned activities will focus on topics such as the use of bioinformatics in translational research centred on cancer, as well as data analysis.

As atividades contarão com a moderação e coordenação de Fernando Schmitt, Luís Azevedo, Sule Canberk, Nuno Vale (RISE-Health@RISE/FMUP). António Soares (RISE-Health@RISE/FMUP), diretor executivo do RISE, e Carmen Jerómimo, investigadora do Laboratório Associado RISE, também terá um papel ativo na iniciativa.

The activities will be moderated and coordinated by Fernando Schmitt, Luís Azevedo, Sule Canberk, Nuno Vale (RISE-Health@RISE/FMUP). António Soares (RISE-Health@RISE/FMUP), executive director of RISE, and Carmen Jerómimo, a researcher at the RISE Associate Laboratory, will also play an active role in the event.

Shannan Ho Sui’s visit is organised by the RISE Associate Laboratory in coordination with RISE-Health and IPO-Porto. The initiative is co-funded by the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD).
