Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o RISE-Health, professor associado convidado da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto e diretor do Servi\u00e7o de Neurocirurgia da ULS S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o foi nomeado presidente da Sociedade Iberolatinoamericana de Coluna (SILACO).<\/p><p>Vale a pena real\u00e7ar que esta \u00e9 a primeira vez que um m\u00e9dico portugu\u00eas assume a lideran\u00e7a da SILACO, entidade integrada por 17 associa\u00e7\u00f5es cient\u00edficas dedicadas ao tratamento da patologia da coluna vertebral, estando tamb\u00e9m representada a Sociedade Portuguesa de Patologia da Coluna Vertebral (SPPCV).<\/p><p>Paulo Pereira, que agora lidera uma sociedade que representa mais de 4000 especialistas, sobretudo neurocirurgi\u00f5es e ortopedistas, \u00e9 investigador do RISE-Health, integrando a linha tem\u00e1tica 2, dedicada \u00e0s \u201cNeuroci\u00eancias\u201d, onde atualmente desenvolve a sua investiga\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p><p>Como investigador, Paulo Pereira debru\u00e7a-se sobre a cirurgia minimamente invasiva da coluna vertebral, a cirurgia da jun\u00e7\u00e3o craniovertebral, a cirurgia da medula espinal e da coluna intradural e a t\u00e9cnica percut\u00e2nea da coluna
