A confirma\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 dada pelos resultados provis\u00f3rios da Avalia\u00e7\u00e3o realizada no \u00e2mbito do <strong>Programa Plurianual de Financiamento de Unidades de I&amp;D 2023\/2024<\/strong> da <strong>Funda\u00e7\u00e3o para a Ci\u00eancia e a Tecnologia (FCT)<\/strong> conhecidos hoje, dia 15 de abril.<\/p><p>\u201cO painel avaliou o RISE-Health com a classifica\u00e7\u00e3o \u201cMuito Bom\u201d, o que \u00e9 um resultado excelente para uma nova Unidade\u201d, refere <strong>Altamiro da Costa Pereira, diretor da FMUP<\/strong>, institui\u00e7\u00e3o que assume o papel de Unidade de Gest\u00e3o Principal e sede da Unidade de I&amp;D.<\/p><p>Nesta Avalia\u00e7\u00e3o, o <a href=\"https:\/\/rise-health.pt\/pt-pt\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RISE-Health<\/a> viu ser-lhe atribu\u00eddo um financiamento de <strong>12,4 M\u20ac<\/strong>. Trata-se do terceiro maior financiamento atribu\u00eddo a uma U&amp;D em Portugal nesta edi\u00e7\u00e3o. \u201cEntre as 313 candidaturas aprovadas, o RISE-Health destacou-se como a terceira com maior financiamento total e a mais financiada na rubrica de equipamentos. Um feito not\u00e1vel que demonstra o reconhecimento claro da relev\u00e2ncia e potencial da nossa proposta\u201d, sublinha <strong>Fernando Schmitt<\/strong>.<\/p><p>O <strong>diretor do RISE-Health<\/strong> salienta que \u201co expressivo investimento em equipamentos ao abrigo do PRR nos posiciona como a unidade com melhores condi\u00e7\u00f5es para impulsionar a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o cl\u00ednica e translacional em Portugal\u201d.<\/p><p>Para Fernando Schmitt, \u201ca nossa vis\u00e3o estrat\u00e9gica, a aposta firme na multidisciplinaridade e o compromisso coletivo com uma gest\u00e3o inovadora foram claramente reconhecidos. A investiga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica em sa\u00fade saiu fortalecida\u201d.<\/p><p>Como acrescenta <strong>Ant\u00f3nio Soares, diretor executivo do RISE-Health<\/strong>, \u201co montante atribu\u00eddo \u00e9 not\u00e1vel, mas tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 reflexo da nossa necessidade em refor\u00e7ar a infraestrutura cient\u00edfica, especialmente em termos de equipamento. Cerca de 60% dos 12M\u20ac est\u00e1 destinado para esse fim, sendo que o pr\u00f3prio painel reconhece que o financiamento program\u00e1tico pode n\u00e3o ser suficiente para satisfazer todas as necessidades. Isto sublinha a necessidade de continuar a procurar formas de obter financiamento pr\u00f3prio para atingir os seus objetivos cient\u00edficos\u201d.<\/p><p>Os resultados agora conhecidos constituem o reconhecimento p\u00fablico desta Unidade de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, com 637 membros integrados, como uma \u201crede preparada para desenvolver investiga\u00e7\u00e3o biom\u00e9dica interdisciplinar de elevada qualidade em v\u00e1rias \u00e1reas cient\u00edficas e cl\u00ednicas, desde as ci\u00eancias cardiovasculares \u00e0s neuroci\u00eancias, metabolismo e farmacologia cl\u00ednica\u201d, com um foco especial na cardiologia e grupos fortes na investiga\u00e7\u00e3o pr\u00e9-cl\u00ednica.<\/p><p>Na atribui\u00e7\u00e3o do financiamento pelo painel de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o foram tidos em conta diversos crit\u00e9rios, como o reconhecido m\u00e9rito de cientistas eminentes, a qualidade e relev\u00e2ncia da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o desenvolvida, o n\u00edvel de colabora\u00e7\u00e3o e internacionaliza\u00e7\u00e3o. Os avaliadores reconheceram tamb\u00e9m a elevada dedica\u00e7\u00e3o desta Unidade no sentido de melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados de sa\u00fade e a transla\u00e7\u00e3o da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o b\u00e1sica para a pr\u00e1tica cl\u00ednica, a produtividade cient\u00edfica e o envolvimento em atividades de ensino e forma\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p><p>Recorde-se que o RISE-Health \u00e9 o resultado da fus\u00e3o do CINTESIS \u2013 Centro de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em Tecnologias e Servi\u00e7os de Sa\u00fade, da UnIC \u2013 Unidade de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e Desenvolvimento Cardiovascular, do MedInUP \u2013 Centro de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o Farmacol\u00f3gica e Inova\u00e7\u00e3o em F\u00e1rmacos e do CICS-UBI \u2013 Centro de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em Ci\u00eancias da Sa\u00fade.<\/p><p>Com sede na FMUP, esta nova unidade de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o ter\u00e1 centros de gest\u00e3o em cinco unidades org\u00e2nicas da U. Porto.
