A Linha Tem\u00e1tica 2 \u2013 Neuroci\u00eancias<\/strong><\/em> estuda as condi\u00e7\u00f5es neurol\u00f3gicas, psiqui\u00e1tricas e de sa\u00fade mental prevalentes. A sua miss\u00e3o \u00e9 ter um conhecimento abrangente da fisiopatologia das principais doen\u00e7as, permitindo, assim, avan\u00e7os na abordagem cl\u00ednica, progn\u00f3stico e estrat\u00e9gias de gest\u00e3o efetivas.
Coordenada por Elsa Azevedo, a LT2 explora a rela\u00e7\u00e3o intricada entre a neurobiologia molecular e as manifesta\u00e7\u00f5es cl\u00ednicas de diversas doen\u00e7as, com um forte foco na transla\u00e7\u00e3o e uma equipa multidisciplinar que orquestra um \u201ccontinuum\u201d das atividades de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o laboratorial \u00e0 \u201ccabeceira do doente\u201d.
Esta Linha Tem\u00e1tica visa melhorar o conhecimento cient\u00edfico e a abordagem cl\u00ednica nesta \u00e1rea, incluindo a complexa \u00e1rea da dor, assente em colabora\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00f3lidas entre diferentes disciplinas, departamentos cl\u00ednicos, laborat\u00f3rios de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e biobancos.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Elsa Azevedo coordena a Linha Tem\u00e1tica 2 \u2013 Neuroci\u00eancias do RISE-Health. No dom\u00ednio da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, tem coordenado, desde 2007, a equipa Cerebrovascular da UnIC \u2013 Unidade de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e Desenvolvimento Cardiovascular, promovendo investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e colabora\u00e7\u00f5es internacionais.<\/p>

Depois de obter a sua gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Medicina pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto (FMUP)<\/a> em 1985, completou p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Cuidados Intensivos em 1997 e doutoramento em Medicina em 2011 (FMUP). Come\u00e7ou a ensinar Neuroanatomia na CESPU, em 1993 e, desde ent\u00e3o, tem lecionado Neurologia nesta escola, tendo ainda pertencido ao Conselho Pedag\u00f3gico.

Desenvolveu \u201cexpertise\u201d em Doen\u00e7as Cerebrovasculares e Neurossonologia, com parcerias em institui\u00e7\u00f5es prestigiadas (Toulouse, Lisboa, Angers, Heidelberg, Giessen, Leicester). Tem coordenado a Unidade de Neurossonologia desde 1996 e o Grupo de Doen\u00e7a Vascular Cerebral desde 2005.

Em Portugal, tem coordenado a \u00e1rea Cerebrovascular do Programa Nacional de Doen\u00e7as Cerebrovasculares. Foi uma das fundadoras, com posi\u00e7\u00f5es de lideran\u00e7a, da Sociedade Portuguesa do AVC, da Sociedade Portuguesa de Neurossonologia e da associa\u00e7\u00e3o de apoio aos doentes Portugal AVC. Internacionalmente, tem integrado diversos organismos, nomeadamente a European Society of Neurosonology e a Cerebral Hemodynamics and the European Academy of Neurology. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
