Fernando Schmitt<\/b> \u00e9 o Diretor do RISE-Health<\/b>. \u00c9 tamb\u00e9m diretor do Laborat\u00f3rio Associado\u00a0RISE \u2013 Rede de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em Sa\u00fade<\/a>, investigador principal do\u00a0CINTESIS \u2013 Centro de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em Tecnologias e Servi\u00e7os de Sa\u00fade<\/a> e Professor Catedr\u00e1tico da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto<\/a> (FMUP).<\/p>

Formado em Medicina pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1983) e doutorado pela Universidade do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo (1990), tem tamb\u00e9m p\u00f3s-doutoramento em Patologia pela Universidade do Porto (1993).<\/p>

\u00c9 um dos maiores especialistas mundiais em citopatologia e em patologia da mama, tendo publicado 568 artigos em revistas especializadas e sendo autor de sete livros sobre cancro da mama, citopatologia e patologia molecular. \u00c9 membro da Ag\u00eancia Internacional para a Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em Cancro, sob os ausp\u00edcios da Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Mundial da Sa\u00fade (OMS). Foi Presidente da Academia Internacional de Citologia (IAC). Atualmente, \u00e9 um dos editores da s\u00e9rie da OMS Cytopathology Reporting Systems.<\/p>

Por dois anos, foi Diretor do Laborat\u00f3rio Nacional de Sa\u00fade do Luxemburgo e, por isso, desempenhou um importante papel na defini\u00e7\u00e3o de pol\u00edticas de sa\u00fade p\u00fablica nesse pa\u00eds. At\u00e9 agora, j\u00e1 foi galardoado com tr\u00eas grandes pr\u00e9mios, dois dos quais de institui\u00e7\u00f5es internacionais.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
