Mário Dinis Ribeiro

Mário Dinis-Ribeiro is vice director of the Research Center of the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto (CI-IPOP), Visiting Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), and Senior Graduate Assistant in Gastroenterology at the IPO-Porto/Porto Comprehensive Cancer Center (Porto.CCC), as well as Director of the Department of Medicine at this institution.

With a degree (1996), doctorate (2005), and aggregate (2009) from FMUP, he works as a gastroenterologist at the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto (IPO-Porto), where, between 2014 and 2023, he was Director of the Gastroenterology Service.

He received the Bial Award in Clinical Research in 2018 and has signed more than 350 scientific articles. As a researcher, his main fields of interest are developing predictive models and diagnostic procedures for the early detection and maintenance of gastrointestinal tumors. At the same time, he is co-editor-in-chief of the journal Endoscopy.

In 2022, he made the World’s Top 2% Scientist List at Stanford University (United States).
