António Soares

António Soares

António Soares is the executive director of RISE – Health Research Network, a researcher and executive manager of the Center for Health Technology and Services Research (CINTESIS), and coordinator of the Knowledge Management Unit of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), where he is also a member of the Scientific Council. In addition, he is a member of the Senate of the University of Porto, and he regularly collaborates as an expert with various national and international funding agencies, such as the European Commission, EUREKA, the National Innovation Agency (ANI), and the FCT.

He has a doctorate in Health Psychology from the University of Minho and postgraduate training in Project Management and Management from Porto Business School (PBS). In 2011, at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), he took part in a project in the area of Clinical Communication, which allowed him to visit all the national medical schools and get to know medical education in Portugal in depth.

He was also a Porto Medical Simulation Center (CESIMED) trainer and an FMUP Biomedical Simulation Center associate member. He currently represents CINTESIS in the AgeUP consortium, PtCRIN – Portuguese Clinical Research Infrastructure Network, Health Cluster Portugal, and A3ES.
